ABOUT US
Gamma Beta Phi Society is a national
organization that promotes scholarship, character, and service among college
students. To be eligible, a student must have completed 15 semester hours, be
enrolled in school, and have a 3.5 cumulative grade point average. Membership
fees, local dues, benefits, and requirements of membership will be discussed at
members meetings.
Diploma seals and graduation
stoles are available when a member graduates; however,
you must be an active member for at least one semester
before graduation. You will only receive an invitation
one time per year once you become eligible. If circumstances
do not allow you to join at that time, you can write
a letter of request to join our society. Remember, it
is an honor to be selected for membership in Gamma Beta
Phi.
The society provides various services to the
College and the community. We serve as graduation marshals,
help with the bloodmobile visits, and have toy and clothing
collections for underprivileged children. We also have
a Christmas party for them. We have raised money for
the North Carolina Burn Center, Ronald McDonald House,
Eastern North Carolina School for the Deaf, Holy Angels,
American Cancer Society, and Make-a-Wish Foundation
as state projects in the past. We also work with the
Children's Home of Cleveland County.
